The learning goals of the technological department are to enable students to:
Gain an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, skills, concepts and language underlying the various branches of technological education and be able to use these in a productive efficient manner;
Develop the skills, including critical thinking skills, and the knowledge of strategies required to do research, conduct inquiries, and communicate findings accurately, ethically, and effectively;
Explore and understand the various opportunities available through a number of education and career pathways and make the necessary connections that will help them take advantage of these opportunities.
Achieve the level of competence they will need in order to be successful in their choice of post secondary education or training programs or in the workplace;
Develop a creative and flexible approach to problem solving that will help them address challenges in various areas throughout their lives;
Develop lifelong learning habits that will help them adapt to technological advances in the changing workplace and world;
Gain and understanding of the necessary safety considerations associated with a career in the trades: personal safety knowledge and skill
