MM/RAL GIRLS
SWIMMING AND DIVING
2025
Letter Requirements:
The following quidelines will be used to guide Junior Varsity letter Awards:
Comply with all team rules and athletic codes.
Attendance at all required practices. Swimmers that have a legitimate excuse for missing all or part of a practice must talk with the head coach and provide a written excuse if requested. Call or text the coach before 2:30 pm if you are sick and unable to attend practice.
Teamwork is an important goal to this coaching staff. We expect all athletes to show respect for each other, encourage one another, and behave in a way that builds team spirit and support.
3a. All athletes are to stay on deck and assist until the pool is cleaned up after home meets, assist with lane lines before practice, and be in the water on time.
3b. Suits: in compliance with the spirit of the WIAA handbook it is strongly recommended that the team suit be used for all dual meets. If a swimmer chooses, he/she may purchase on his/her own, in addition to the team suit, another suit for competition at District, State, and some invitationals. These are often referred to as “Tech” suits and should have no markings of another team. **Please clear this with the coach prior to use to insure compliance with all other NFHS, WIAA, District and League rules.**
Participation is expected in all meets for which you qualify. If you anticipate a problem contact the head coach at least 2 days prior to the scheduled meet.
Total points at least 75*, from meet and practice attendance, PB's, test sets, etc.
In addition to the above standards, the following minimum requirements should be attained to qualify for a Varsity letter:
7. Compete in a minimum of 6 different individual events, and
8. Participate in the District Championship Meet, and
9. Total points at least 95*, from meet and practice attendance, PB's, test sets, etc.
**Teammates who are unable to live up to these expectations may be addressed individually, with loss of relay positions, meet participation, team participation, or referral to school discipline procedures all possible outcomes.
In addition to the above standards, the coaching staff reserves the right to make point adjustments, when appropriate.
If there are concerns that need to be addressed, talk to a coach so they can be handled in a timely way.
