Internship Experiences:
I created a small Health Advocate's handbook. It is a collection of experiences I had with the various refugees I assisted, as well as a research paper on health access issues the refugee population faces. The research paper is based off of works from my CPH 387: Health Disparities and Inequalities course.
The booklet also consists of some condensed versions of accessing WIC throughout Tucson. I explain the differences and similarities in the services MHC clinics and the Pima County Health Department provide for WIC applicants. Based on what I learned in CPH 350 about the needs of a population, I knew that it would be beneficial for future Health Advocate interns to have an easier way of using the WIC system.
Lastly, I attached the letter I wrote to the organization during my application for the internship. ENGL 307 helped me write an internship application cover letter.
