1967 F-250

This truck was my daily driver for 5 years. I had a hell of a time with titles and inspections. Learned a lesson that you should always look VERY close at the paperwork for a project BEFORE you hand over the money. I didn't lose any money over the deal...just some time and a few hairs!

It originally was an F-250 with a 352/4-speed and a Dana 60 rear end. I had an old 300 from a 79 F-100 I scrapped many years ago, so I started to plan around that.

I wanted to do a performance 300 because not everyone does them, and because the 300 is such a kick ass motor. I am not done with the motor. It runs right now, but I am preparing for the next round of mods!

When I am done:

    • '79 300 bored .040" over

    • .010" decked block

    • Ported and Polished '65 240 head with larger valves

    • Aftermarket camshaft

    • Offenhouser "C" Intake Manifold

    • Edelbrock 500cfm AVS Carberator

    • Stock Duraspark II Ignition system

The transmission was another adventure. I wanted a 5 speed manual, but wanted to be able to USE all 5 gears, so the truck 5 speeds didn't really appeal to me. I decided to go with a Mustang T-5. I figured there was more than one way to do it...3 that I could see. I chose what I call Option 3. It used the stock bell housing with an adapter, flywheel, and clutch.

I also swapped out the 9" rear end to reduce the weight as well as to change gears. I run a 3.70:1 and 235/75R15 tires.

Here is what my gearing chart looks like. 2200RPM @ 80mph...NOT BAD! (click to enlarge)

I also upgraded the brakes and steering from a '75 F-150. So it now has Power Steering and Power Disk/Drum Brakes.

I fixed some rust in the floor and put a bench seat from a '94 F-150 XLT.
