LWV elects leadership during their annual spring meeting. While there is a nominating committee that provides suggested leadership roles, anyone is able to make electoral nominations.
Currently, our board meets the 2nd Monday evening of the month. Any LWV member can submit (and/or attend with) agenda items. Please contact the President with your agenda request one week prior to meeting.
Below are the current board elected officials.

A strong interest in social justice and a background in advocacy led me to LWV. "I like the nonpartisan sharing of ideas and the in-depth study of issues LWV provides. I appreciate that diverse opinions are welcome and thoughtfully digested in a safe and respectful atmosphere."

Through my career in Public Health, I've learned the most sustainable way to address health inequities is public policy.
Our ability to have a family, own a home, secure a meaningful job - all hinge on policy structures that should continuously evolve through civic engagement.
Sue Panek has been a long time supporter and member of the Winnebago County LWV.
This is her second time on the board and currently serves as secretary, "official" photographer and discussion moderator for the FFT programs.
Sue's career included 40 years in nonprofit work, first with Girl Scouting and ending her career as the executive director/president of the Oshkosh Area United Way. Working toward the Common Good was always in the forefront of her work, and the values and positions League has closely align to her personal values.

My name is Carol Haag, and I was honored to be elected to the LWV board in May 2025. I moved here from Madison in January 2021, eager for a new chapter after retiring.
Over the years, I held a variety of roles, from sales and kitchen design to working in special education with the Madison Metropolitan School District. My husband, Jack Pedersen, and I raised three children and built a full life together.
The changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic inspired me to embrace new experiences and get more involved in civic life. Though I wasn’t always politically active, I believe these times call for deeper engagement. I’m excited to be part of the LWV and look forward to what’s ahead!
Chris joined LWV eight years ago in search of ways to impact change in her community and was recently elected to her first time on the board. Through her life, Chris has been active in local, stat and national political campaigns. She served as an elected precinct committee woman. Chris is passionate about social justice, equity and ensuring that her grandchildren inherit a just and fair country. Chris is a retired nurse of forty years, where she specialized in maternal and infant care. Her career demonstrated to her the importance of access to safe healthcare. She is a proud mother to three strong and independent daughters and Nana to six remarkable and always entertaining grandchildren. Chris is often traveling and enjoys experiencing different cultures around the world. It is a small world where there is much more that binds us than divides us.
Becky has been inspired by our local League of Women Voters leaders like Jessie Jack Hooper and Helen Kimberly Stuart. She is new to our Board in 2023. Becky believes in the importance of having educated voters and being involved and educated about current issues in education and social justice.
