About Us

Who we are: Members of the League of Women Voters are people who are interested in politics, government and the issues facing all of us. We believe communities are made strong by informed citizens engaging in the democratic process and in civil dialogue. We are a nonpartisan organization engaged in politics. We continuously seek information from all sides of an issue. We are passionate about our positions and advocate from them. We consider well before taking action and prepare well before beginning to act. In other words, if the League is advocating on an issue, you can be sure that issue has been studied vigorously and represents member agreement.

Our mission and roles: The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy. We never support or oppose any political party or candidate. Our roles include voter service/citizen education and action/advocacy.

What we do: We study key public policy issues and take action to support our views. We hold periodic community forums on topics related to current League studies or governmental issues.
