About Me

I was born and raised in the great state of West Virginia. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I love living in the hills of West Virginia.

I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982 and Fairmont State College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocational Home Economics and in 2005 I completed my Masters degree in Educational Technology Leadership through Salem International University. In 2007, I completed my National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education. Also, I completed my Technology Integration Specialist certification in 2011.

After graduating from FSC in 1986, I taught school in Germany for 3 years for the Department of Defense and then taught from 1989-1993 at Clay County High School. After returning home to Harrison County, I began teaching at Lumberport Middle School in 1994, which is now Lincoln Middle. I am truly blessed to be married to my best friend, Jeff Kerns. We have three sons, Mark, Mason, and Mathew, my daughter-in-law Bre and my beautiful granddaughter Elianna. Each day I smile big, love unconditionally, and give from the heart.
