STUDENT EXPECTATIONS:
Students are expected to try their best at all times. If something is unclear or not understood, raise your hand and wait to be called on to get your question answered. When class is over, practice the music and concepts you don’t play well. This practice can occur after school or at home. Make sure you are prepared for the next day.
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:
Every student will follow the six pillars of character. ANY behavior that does not follow the six pillars will be dealt with as follows:
1st offense – warning to correct the behavior.
2nd offense – assigned after school detention with the band director for the next school day. The director will contact the parents.
3rd offense – the student will be put on a Behavior Contract.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Prior to every performance, an e-mail will be sent or a note will be given to each student to inform parents about times and what is required for that particular performance. It’s okay to arrive a little earlier than the given time. Wear the proper clothing attire. Follow the directions. Demonstrate the Six Pillars of Character.
REWARD TRIP:
The marching band and colorguard take a "reward trip" towards the end of the school. The purpose of this trip is to reward them for the time spent outside of the classroom specifically Saturday parades and The Fair Parade. In order to be eligible, the student must average 75% or higher on playing tests. The student also has to attend all the performances. One excused absence (director must be notified prior to the performance) will also be allowed. Anything more than this, the student is no longer eligible to attend.
