Disney's "Let it Go" was a huge hit in this year's light display. By the end of the season the video had racked up over 6 million views on Youtube. My youngest daughter, 8 years old at the time, actually sequenced it first using a bunch of wreaths and I liked it so much that I stole her song choice and added it to the display. My older daughter, 13, made use of her musical talent and did all the timing grids, which is one of the hard parts of sequencing a song.
Pixel Treeline: After some experimenting this year I jumped into RGB pixels by doing my treeline. I was so happy with the result. It was a pretty steep learning curve for me at first, and a ton of work, but in the end was worth it.
With RGB pixels I can control the color of each bulb independently, which allows for all sorts of options for effects during songs. Click [here] for all the gory details on the pixel trees.
Sequencing Classes:
This year I had a blast teaching 2 sequencing classes. One at Academy and another at Expo.
Had a great time at Academy 6. Got to teach a LOR Sequencing class and had a great time doing it. HERE is the link to the sequencing, slides, effects library, xlights/nutcracker configuration is in this zip file. Everything except the MP3, see the README.TXT file for the amazon link to download it.
Slides used for the EXPO LOR Sequencing class found here.
