        - “Respect our Past … Develop the Future “

            - Be a part of shaping the future of We Serve

        - and have  F U N   doing it

Come to a new-format District Convention …..

in Cessnock – the heart of our District

- Share  - Learn  - Socialise  - Enjoy  - Celebrate

at this MEMBER-focussed convention

Members responding to our survey earlier this year told us that they were more likely to attend convention if it was

shorter duration, overall less-expensive, more inspirational, less formalities, & with more individual involvement

District Governor Glenn welcomes you to join in our revised format

-  From Friday afternoon 3rd November,  the registration & display areas will be open.

- There will be no official function but you are welcome to socialise at the Cessnock Leagues Club.

- Saturday 4th November we will conduct all convention in ONE DAY.

From 7am Registrations open & there will be enough coffee/tea & croissants/muffins to substitute for a breakfast elsewhere.

Call to order is at 8:30am

- The morning will start with “Respect for our Past” and progress through the “official business” of AGM & Project approvals and election for various  positions for the future

- We will start to address “Develop the future” with Leo of the Year,  updates on the way forward with various projects, opportunities to share ideas on activities successfully undertaken by selected clubs, discussion forum on how we adapt Lions to the modern community.

 - During lunch there will be an address by non-Lions Guest speaker, Mark Fitzgibbon, Managing Director and CEO of NIB Health Funds who will talk about managing change.

- A flat fee of $20 per person for the Convention day will include substantial morning refreshments available on arrival through to morning tea break plus the sit-down lunch.

- Then, celebrate on the Saturday night with a Centennial Party – even for those who cannot make it during the day.  Dress will be smart casual, not formal- decorations "Black&Gold"-let your hair down - we want you to relax and enjoy the company of fellow Lions & Lioness.

  - Tickets for the Centennial Party that night will be $50 and include a free drink on arrival, 2-course dinner and live dance music provided by highly recommended duo - Scratch.

One lucky punter will win the lucky door prize and get their ticket price refunded.

    – For the Centennial Party, the venue is limited to 200, so get in and book as soon as possible before 15th October.

- On Sunday 5th November, Cessnock Wine Country Lions will run a "brunch" BBQ at a selected winery in the Wine District near Cessnock - for those able to spend extra time in the area.
