District Convention 2024

9:30am start both days at Diggers; 6pm start for Saturday Night at North Entrance Surf Club
Plans are well underway for our 2024 Convention on the weekend of the 19th – 20th October 2024.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate our “Friendship in Service” Theme.
We start at 9:30am on Saturday, 19 October at Diggers, 315 The Entrance Road, Long Jetty with registration between 8.00am and 9.30am. You can also register on the Friday afternoon, 18 October 2024 between 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Please join with us if you are able for a few casual drinks or dinner to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
The Convention will finish at 12.30pm on Sunday 19 October after the Memorial Service, speakers and an award giving and closing ceremony.
We invite you to book your accommodation now. Here are some accommodation options to lay your head while in our beachside town of The Entrance.
For your convenience, we attach a copy of your Registration Form. Whether you attend the whole or only a part of your convention, every Lion, Leo and guest needs to complete a form and email or send it back to us.

The Convention is now only 6 weeks away and registrations are going well. Those who haven’t yet registered, a reminder to do so by the end of this month.
There will early check-in on the Friday afternoon from 2.00pm to 5.00pm for those who can. We have arranged for many good key-note speakers for you to enjoy.
The voting delegate forms have been sent to all clubs so please endeavour to ensure your club is represented at the elections on the Saturday afternoon.
Also, Cab Sec Judy, has sent out forms to be completed to ensure we do not miss any Lion or Lion’s partner in your club that has gone to higher service in the past 12 months. The Memorial Service will be held on the Sunday morning at 9.30am. It is nice to have a family member attend to receive the memorial gift. Clubs should remember to complete a Registration Form for the guest as well and, if possible, arrange payment of the $15 morning tea fee.
Lion Di Louis is again having the “Iced Fruit Cake Competition”. The theme for the cake can be whatever you like. The cake must be a Lions Fruit Cake. Bring your cake along with you first thing on the Saturday morning. It’s just some fun to be involved in if you can.
For those requiring a display table, please let me know by email – karen.pierpoint@hotmail.com. They are limited. If you have brochures only, they can be placed on the brochures table or put in the convention bags, depending on the number of brochures you have. Not all tables have electricity so if you require this, let me know as well.
