Granagh Ballingarry were crowned Limerick Senior Camogie Champions for the third year running as they overcame Killeedy by 1-4 to 1-3 on Sunday in Newcastle West. A large crowd turned up to witness the encounter between these rivals and were treated to a tightly contested game with defences dominating for bought teams.

Joanne O’Gorman opened the scoring for Killeedy but Rebecca Noonan levelled with a 45 by the 10 minute mark. A further free from Rebecca and an Aoife Sheehan free from 60m gave Granagh Ballingarry a narrow advantage at the break.

Another long distance Aoife Sheehan free just after the break dropped under the bar to give Granagh a 1-3 to 0-1 lead. However Killeedy rallied and a free from Lisa Scanlon and point from substitute Michelle Casey closed the gap until with 5 minutes to go Michelle Casey found the back of the net to level the game.

In a tense closing period to the game it was another free from Aoife Sheehan that sealed the narrowest of wins for Granagh Ballingarry who celebrated their third Senior Championship win in a row.
