We will study Mark Twain, the "founder of American literature", with some excerpts of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and studying life on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.
We will also ponder the strong imaginative power of these stories, the soft power it has exerted on generations lulled into the American Dream, and may ask whether you are shaped by what you watch and read.
Let's learn about the Mississippi River: is it the longest river in the world? In North America? Let's get our facts straight and discover how important the river is in American history, economy, culture and...well...life!
