There is a stained glass window in Holy Trinity Church Leverstock Green, commemorating the men of the Queen's Westminster Rifles who were stationed in and around the village in 1914.
The roll of honour for the Battalion lists 1,219 dead for all ranks during the war.

The 1st Battalion of QWR (892 officers and other ranks) departed from Southampton on the SS Maidan and landed in Le Havre, France on 3 November 1914. The following day they were taken in cattle trucks, marked 'Chevaux 8, Hommes 40' to Rouen.
