Dr. Leslie Maniotes is an educational leader dedicated to improving public education for all students. Leslie is a consultant working with school districts to align their instruction with best practices around inquiry through professional development, instructional design, and coaching.

Leslie is committed to building capacity in others by providing high quality professional development through workshops, coaching, facilitating professional learning communities, and implementing effective instructional designs.

Leslie sees herself as a learner. With over two decades in public education, she continually seeks to improve schools for students and teachers. She has earned National Board Certification and has over a decade of classroom experience in Title 1 schools, urban and rural. She holds a M.Ed in reading and has worked as a K-12 literacy specialist.

A certified administrator and school leader, Leslie was trained in the Ritchie Program at the University of Denver with a focus on urban school leadership. Leslie conducts training for educational leaders to creating systemic change to improve and build inquiry practice through Guided Inquiry Design.

Leslie has extensive experience working with teachers, librarians, and administrators and has designed and led workshops, institutes, conferences, and teacher advancement training. Leslie has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Leslie is an experienced instructional designer holding a Ph.D. in Instructional Curriculum in the Content Areas (ICCA) from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

She teamed with an award winning international scholar in the field of library and information systems and top museum educator from the Air and Space Museum to develop Guided Inquiry and the Guided Inquiry Design Framework that is the foundation of her consulting and professional development workshops.

She is a published author of numerous articles and coauthor of the books Guided Inquiry: Learning in the 21st Century and Guided Inquiry Design: A Framework for Inquiry in Your School. (see CV for full list)
