My dream is that schools become Inquiry Communities where the focus is on learning and all students have opportunities to learn from their own curiosities. Students who have opportunities in school to ask their own authentic questions and to learn from those questions by finding, evaluating, and using information are more successful adults and participants in the world in which we live today.

Today, we can find information on our handheld devices, we can find the answers to our questions easily, learning facts is no longer relevant. What our student today must learn, is how to ask deeper questions, how to find valid information, how to get multiple perspectives on their question, and how to learn from the information that they find to communicate what they have learned with others. That is our greatest challenge for education today. Guided Inquiry Design holds the answer to that challenge.

My expertise is centered on inquiry learning, literacy, and instructional design. In my consulting, I work with educators across the globe to build educators' professional knowledge and skill using the Guided Inquiry Design(R) Framework (see guidedinquirydesign.com and the books below).

I design and facilitate high quality professional development grounded in constructivist principles. My institutes and workshops shift educator's practice so that they become facilitators of learning. They learn to take an inquiry stance on instructional design as they use our framework as a pathway to success. As a result, participants create powerful units of study for their students to learn from their own questions so they can begin their joyous process of growth within the wonderful profession of education, where we have the privilege to teach the next generation of thinkers, creators and doers. I can't wait to work with you.
