This is my Professional Learning mind-map made using Popplet on an iPad. The focus of this graphic is to offer professional development in a three prong approach with the faculty in a program called CAST. In order to integrate the technology into their teaching the faculty need to feel comfortable with the devices as well as the applications and finally with the actual implementation of the technology in their teaching, presenting and assessing. As shown below some of the initial PD will be offered in a traditional model, but will eventually morph into a blended approach of delivery.
Here is a short video on different types of Professional Developments and aligning them with your shared school vision. This video was made using VideoScribe for iPad app ($5.99)
Reflection:
I find that the concepts of teaching adults are not new to me as I have been teaching them for some time. I think as a Professional Learning Leader I'll attempt the following: 1- Be more direct in the PD when referencing SAMR, 2- More pause and reflection, 3- Technology as tool for integration but not the focus (unless it is).
I have found that since starting this program, I have incorporated more online engagement in my PD's. Even large group PD's have online or interactive components every 10 minutes or so. I have found that this level of engagement models the way we would like them to teach. There is less direct instruction and more discovery.
