LCC Celebrates Fourth Anniversary

The Fourth Anniversary of the Lakshmipuram Children’s Club was celebrated on a grand scale on the 14th Of April 2013, with 62 children from the Lakshmipuram Area showcasing their talents.

The Anniversary was marked by presenting various topics on the concept of “Awareness”. There were skits, dances, songs, street play, speech, discussion, presentation and puppet show.

The parents of Lakshmipuram took lot of interest and enthusiastically participated in getting the children ready for their performances on the  occasion. The entire program was compered and presented by the children, while the adults were treated to a very colourful, refreshing and enjoyable evening of song, skit and dance.

The real tiny tots represented different states of India, and stressed on the greatness of “Unity in Diversity’. This was followed by a dance that had six pretty little girls depicting a typical farmer’s life, urging the audience to appreciate the toil and the greatness of the farmer’s role in our lives. The song on mother extolled the selfless love of a mother to her child.

The Alphabet City skit that followed highlighted the importance of learning to respect everyone, and not to judge anyone based on their looks. The Bharathanatyam piece that was exquisitely presented by a group of girls, narrated the greatness of Shakti and her deeds. Story narration on the importance of having a kind disposition and overcoming anger was well received.

The Power point presentation that followed gave useful tips on cyber safety. The street play focused on road safety and the precautions to be taken by the road users, while the puppet show had puppets discussed Child Abuse-  what is good touch and bad touch, giving useful guidelines for the children. The skit on Trees spoke about the importance of planting more trees in the neighbourhood.

There were small dialogues rendered in between to talk about the importance of personal hygiene, maintaining a clean neighbourhood, eating right kind of food etc.,

The chief guest, Mr. Raghuram, spoke about the importance of conservation of endangered species by sharing his experiences of the ‘turtle walks’ along the beaches of Chennai. Plant saplings were given away at the end of the programme.
