La Ronde: A French Music Class for Little Ones and Their Moms, Dads, and Nannies
Come sing, dance, and discover French with your toddler in this joyful 45-minute music class! Blending beloved classic French comptines with original songs written especially for La Ronde and La Petite École by the duo Joséphine et Rémy, every class is a warm, playful introduction to French language and music.
We open with a friendly "Bonjour les amis" to welcome each child by name, then move into "Maracas et tambourins," where little hands explore rhythm with shakers, maracas, and tambourines. Along the way, we all jump on "Allez jump" and guide children to imitate animal sounds, point to parts of the body, and twirl colorful scarves to the "Rainbow Song." There's singing, jumping, movement, and games throughout — and every class ends with everyone's favorite moment: bubbles!
Parents and caregivers are warmly encouraged to join in, even without knowing a word of French. By the end of each class, you and your little one will walk away with a handful of new French words and a song playing non-stop in your head.

Joséphine Ancelle is a French singer-songwriter with a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She has taught music to preschoolers at La Petite École since 2012 and is herself the mother of twin girls and a young boy — she knows firsthand what keeps little ones engaged and delighted. She's joined by professional guitarist Rémy de Laroque, one of our Artists in Residence since 2023, whose skills as a songwriter and arranger, alongside his live musicianship, bring every song in the class to life. He is the proud father of his daughter Luna.

Class Registration Policy: REFUND & CANCELATIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Schedules and availability are subject to change. Registration does not guarantee the availability of any class. The minimum required number of registered students is three students for a class to occur. La Petite Ecole reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In the event of a cancelled class, registered students who have paid tuition will have the option of enrolling in another class at no additional charge (if possible) or will receive a full refund of tuition paid.
Please note registration is for the entire semester and that we are unable to offer refunds or make-up classes for missed sessions, regardless of the reason for the absence, or in rare cases where a child may need to withdraw due to behavior concerns; this decision will only be made after a formal warning has been given to the child’s parent or guardian. Our goal is always to support every child in their learning journey, and we appreciate your understanding as we maintain a structured and nurturing space for all.
