Lunch

A Time to Learn

 Les Arts de la Table

Students bring their own lunch in a labeled lunchbox, and a fruit to share for snack times, unpeeled and uncut (for half-day students: 1 fruit; for full-day students: 2 fruits).

Please note:

Our NYC certified Lunch Assistant will empty each lunchbox on a plate (and a bowl for the dessert), and reheat each lunch.

All children eat together, learning how to use properly utensils (forks and spoons) to eat.

Water is served in glasses.

We encourage children to have healthy snacks and lunches to keep them feeling full throughout the day.

During snack and lunch time, we teach students what we call "Les Arts de la Table" ,which encourages them to respect food and participate in the daily ritual of having a meal together, seated at the table.

For this reason, we ask you to provide real food and avoid finger foods. The goal is to encourage the children to use a spoon or a fork for eating, rather than using their fingers.

Depending on your preference, we can serve meals cold or reheat them in the microwave. We ask that parents notify us by email if there is a preference to not reheat a child's food.
