This is a graphic novel/autobiography. It tells the story of Omar and Hassan and the 15 years they spent in a Kenyan Refugee camp called Dadaab. It's simplicity and genre make it an accessible entry point for KS2 or KS3 on the important topic of refugees but there is nevertheless rich teaching potential: authorial intention, analysis of image and form, cross-curriculuar and empathetic discussion. The colourist (Iman Geddy) has done a superb job and I was capitivated aesthetically - especially by any scenes set at dusk or nighttime.
