Medusa - Jesse Burton

Whilst it took me a little time to get into this, it is ultimately BRILLIANT.

Well written with fantastic imagery and a great 'Me too' era, body image, male gaze re-telling of this myth. It de-demonises the monster 'Medusa' into an ultimately innocent girl called Marina. I'd love to find an opportunity to read this short, blisteringly modern retelling in school.
