This is a beautiful book. It is set in a slightly alternative reality which features 'Death-Cast.' Death Cast notifies you just after midnight on the day of your death with the intention that you're able to make the most of it, say your goodbyes etc. It follows a number of characters who intersect briefly with the main, dual narrative of Mateo and Rufus (incidentally LGBT) who are only 18 when they receive the notification and quickly become 'Last Friends' to spend their last day together. The activities they pursue are sweet and simple as they rescue and open up to one another. Normal yet gut-punch powerful. Highly recommended.
