Through a series of preparatory conversations, it was Niall who noticed that there was a common approach through a number different examples/projects/experiences that I was chatting through. He surfaced a particular 5 step model of leading change. On reflection, I add two further steps and we settled on the below:
1. Define the Direction
2.Think of your People
3.Raise awareness
4.Make it a reality
5.Share knowledge
6.Practise and Embed
7.Celebrate success
You can watch a replay of the webinar here.
Here is a quick summary of each step, but watch the webinar for additional discussion and also specific examples of each step from change led at The Rise and also mistakes and errors I've made! The main change I drew many of my examples from was the process of curriculum review completed in 2017-2018 which I blogged about here.
The key focus of my approach to managing change is to absolutely prioritise PEOPLE: consider how each and every step will 'land' on all the 'end users' - for want of a better, less corporate word.
