Collaborative Work
Collaborative Work With Peers
The other Technology Facilitator, Mike Litchman and I collaborate often to develop engaging educational activities for our students. I also try to work collaboratively with classroom teachers for every project that I do. I feel that it is important to try to create projects that are directly correlated with what the students are doing in the classroom. Throughout the grades, we have created various presentations, documents, graphs, etc using the classroom curriculum.
I created a Google calendar for teachers to use to orchestrate signing out the Chromebook carts. This enables teachers to quickly reserve time slots that they would like to use the Chromebook cart, alleviating the antiquated way of teachers having to locate the binder to sign up for time slot. Using a shared Google calendar is much more organized and time efficient. Here is a screenshot of what the calendar looks like for teachers:
Below are a few examples of projects that were created as a result of collaborating with my peers, as you look through this website and see other student work, you may notice that most project are a collaborative effort and have incorporated the classroom curriculum.
Kindergarten (Kid Pix) Baby Chick Project
Kindergarten (Kidspiration) Oviparous Animals Project
1st & 4th Grade Black History Presentation
This Google slide presentation was collaborated with the teachers for this project. Once the project was done, parents were invited to the school to watch a nice show/presentation that kids put on.
My Robot - Web 2.o
After reading the story, "My Robot" in class, first graders went to http://www.abcya.com/make_a_robot.htm and made their own robot. Before they printed, they had to write 2 sentences about their robot.
