Competences of the telecollaborative teacher.

A presentation by Rob O'Dowd at the #cwil conference, June 2013.

Networks for telecollaboration

Telecollaborative activity for language learning is known under many names such as Virtual Exchange and Online Intercultural Exchange. Rob O'Dowd presented a brief history of the activity in a recent Eurocall Keynote. His slides challenge us to re-examine critically our progress over the past 20 years.

Examples of tasks devised for this sort of activity in Higher Education language teaching are available on the uni-collaboration website . (please note this will shortly be moving and I will update with new URL when done)

Moving to interdisciplinary Virtual Exchange.

Unicollaboration are the lead organisation for HE in this area of activity. A bi-annual conference helps to share and connect academics everywhere with the learning from these cutting edge teaching developments. The papers from the 3rd conference held in Krakow, Poland can be downloaded here and the Clavier lived experience is one of those papers. The development of virtual exchange is supported through an EU initiative and the Erasmus EVOLVE project.
