Architectural Style: Gothic Revival History: European immigrants seeking escape from the political fermentation of their homeland's social structure set their sights on distant shores and settled in the Ohio and Wabash valleys. This influx of Catholic settlers was of great concern to Archbishop Purcell of Cincinnati, Ohio. Going to Europe in 1843 in quest of priests he succeeded in obtaining the services of the Community of the Most Precious Blood. The Precious Blood Fathers took care of Holy Trinity and founded the parish there on December 25, 1861.
The grouping of Religious Buildings at Trinity, included a convent, the Church, rectory, and school. The convent (now a private dwelling) was built in 1855, and is a two-story, brick building with a two-story verandah porch. Holy Trinity Catholic Church was built in 1885, and is a Gothic Revival style brick and stone church with a central bell tower with flying buttresses.
