Immediately after an exhausting trip from Portugal, with time only to sleep two hours, I was back to the constant-effort site in Krankesjön for one more (the 8th) session. Perhaps fortunately, there were not as many captures as I expected: only 49 captures and two retraps of 13 species; and it ended up being a very enjoyable session under excellent weather.
The highlight was the capture and a new species: Bearded Tit/Skäggmes (Panurus biarmicus), seven, all juveniles. There were also good numbers of Sedge Warblers (also all juveniles) as well as the first juvenile Icterine Warbler of the year. As always, the results are described in the appropriate (sub)webpage.

Regarding observations, I detected two Whimbrels (Numenius phaeopus) flying over and calling, which constituted my first observation of this species in Lunds Kommun. By the way, in Portugal, the only observation worthy of note was of a beautiful juvenile Audouin Gull (Larus audouinii), which is extremely rare in the northwest of the country. I posted some decent pictures in Flickr.
The next CES session will be in approximately one week, but exact date is not yet decided. Now, it is time to rest!
