Below are a some of my favorite websites for specific study on vocabulary and grammar. Warning!--Don't spend ALL your time studying vocabulary and grammar. You also need to meet these items again and again while reading and/or listening. Spend LOTS of time doing that!

Large site offers step-by-step lessons, including pictures, and quizzes to check your understanding. Very basic to advanced. Many more activities available, including info on British culture. Check "Grammar," "Free English Lessons" and "Vocabulary" first, then explore.
BBC World Service - Grammar, Vocabulary & Pronunciation
This rich site--for upper elementary & above--includes many chances for vocabulary and grammar study. You can even submit your own questions to the experts.
EnglishClub's Grammar and Vocabulary areas each include many lessons, activities and quizzes--a valuable resource. The site has many other resources for English study, as well.

Check out VOA's, Words & Their Stories. Each Sunday, Learning English presents a five-minute program about words and terms used in everyday American English. Also take a look at their Word Book. These are the words that VOA has found most useful in communicating their news stories. They should be useful for you, too. Finally, Games With Words offers a chance to have some fun with vocabulary study.
