Test Your English Online
These tests allow you to check your English level online. Try this--Take a test at the beginning of the school year and record your score (but DON'T look at the test key!). Then take the test again at the end of the first semester, and again at the end of the school year. Your results will give you some idea of your progress over the year.
Caution: Most of these are commercial sites that offer some free practice opportunities. Some parts of the site may require payment for access. Never give credit card information unless you are sure you want to pay.
The English First Standard English Test is a professionally produced, standardized test of English that you can take for free. You can take it again and again, to check your progress over the months and years. They offer a quick 15 minute level-check test, and a full, 50 minute test. When you complete the test, you receive an EF SET Certificate.
This rich site offers free interactive practice for a variety of major English tests--TOEIC, TOEFL, Cambridge First Certificate, etc.
