Kentuckiana Volunteer Aviators

  • Missing Man search in Breckinridge County August 2013

The Kentuckiana Volunteer Aviators was formed in January of 2011 to serve the Kentuckiana community and beyond . The mission of the organization is to provide an opportunity for private aircraft owners to help out the community in time of need. Private aircraft can be useful for search, surveillance and emergency medical transportation when ground routes are unavailable. During our initial year, our twenty two pilots and sixteen private aircraft assisted the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Air National Guard and the Louisville Medal of Honor convention with search, surveillance and transportation.

The pilots of KVA fly as independent volunteers who are willing to donate their time, aircraft and fuel when a true emergency exists. Most of the KVA pilots operate out of the Louisville Bowman Airport and generally will accept a mission within 100 miles of Louisville. If your agency needs air support please call one of our Pilot Volunteer Coordinators so that KVA can assist you.
