I-DELTA ( Institute for the Development of Languages and Translation in Africa) is a 3-year training program for Africans with classes taking place for two months each year. There are both English and French classes, run independently, and I have been involved in the French i-DELTA. The various tracks offered are tranlsation, literacy, linguistics, media, and scripture engagement.
I have been involved for 3 cycles of i-DELTA, helping with Sociolinguistics (language use in society), Grammar, and Discourse (grammatical organization larger than a sentence) classes. I'm hoping to continue my involvement even while based in the US, and have already taken one trip back for one month of a session.
