Portfolio Reflection Questions:
- (POGIL) Insert a screenshot of your Logicly diagram for the Exclusive-OR circuit below.
Picture attached below.
2. (POGIL) Consider these three things: The OR gate (i.e., the physical circuit), the Boolean OR function (as defined by its truth table), and the OR symbol. How would arrange them from most abstract to least abstract? And what criterion would you use to determine their order?
- The order from most abstract to least abstract is as follows: the OR symbol, the Boolean OR function, and then the OR gate. This is the order because the easiest and most general representation is the OR symbol, so it’s the most abstract. Next is the Boolean OR function because it provides more detail than the OR symbol, however not as much as the OR gate. Lastly, the OR gate is the least abstract because it provides the most amount of detail.
3. Consider these three things: A binary digit (e.g., 1 or 0), the flip-flop circuit diagram (), and the flip-flop circuit (i.e., the physical circuit). How would you arrange them from most abstract to least abstract and what criterion would you use to determine their order?
- The order from most abstract to least abstract is as follows: Binary digit, flip-flop circuit diagram, and flip-flop circuit. This the correct order because a binary digit is the most simple because it's just a number, next the flip-flop circuit diagram shows an image of the layout, and lastly a flip-flop circuit because it is the most detailed showing how the circuit actually works.
