Notes from a meeting with Peter Merrotsy, Mon 11th Feb 2013
During the meeting we introduced ourselves (Peter to Grant and vice versa) by treating items (1), (2) and (6) on the preceding list at

Peter said that I should have a defined project/ deliverables (along with the general fit-in-with people and help that is obvious from the initial contacts).
Peter suggested that I might be a useful person to join him in a math-modelling/writing capacity associated with a project he might be involved with.
I said OK. (With university level math modelling, both with undergrads and staff - e.g. Maths in Industry Study Groups - I have been an active participant for decades, e.g. I look after http://school.maths.uwa.edu.au/~anziam. Near the bottom of that anziam page is info on international competitions I have seen in use overseas - and UNSW participates in.)
As with the grown-up math modelling, clear links to reliable data on physical constants and so on are needed.
I've helped via promoting wolframalpha as a site that is useful.
My expertise with wolframalpha (and its limitations! but give it a chance, it is only 2 years old) would be very useful, as would my computer literacy in general.
checking hyperlinks in the documents, etc..
A few links relating to wolframalpha (more generally, not just this project) follow

He said Wolfram Alpha sought to deliver a response to queries that went well beyond providing a single answer.
He said the professional version of his computational engine was being made available in Australia free-of-charge to high school students and teachers.
This included a facility to upload data and have it analysed by Wolfram Alpha – a unique offering.
