As a lifelong learner and teacher in numerous capacities, Katie's passion has always been education. After graduating with a master’s degree in Education, she found an amazing job opportunity in Washington, DC. In this role, she facilitated the enterprise-wide learning strategy and facilitated the trainings she developed, while also creating peer-training models to enhance capacity.
Although she loved the work, the fast-paced environment and overly demanding culture, without structural support, lead to a lack of balance in her life. Physical symptoms of burnout and exhaustion began to show. After years of living with chronic stress, Katie developed consistent migraines, a painful stomach ulcer, and stress hives (twice!)
Katie took a leap of faith and left her DC career, moving to Philadelphia to continue within the learning and development field but with a new focus on the importance of holistic health as a component of the process.
With an added understanding of the impact of health and wellness in her own life experiences, Katie ensures well-being is a part of the assessment process as well as the design and development phases.
Since yoga practices were an essential component of her own recovery, she felt called to become a yoga teacher and was able to incorporate the ancient wisdom alongside today's research related to mindfulness.
With all of her knowledge and experience, Katie has created and implemented numerous presentations for local, regional, national, and international conferences as well as targeted programs for businesses, non-profit organizations, and a variety of groups.
After a few years of being invited to various organizations to share her knowledge, skills, and passion, she began her consulting business in 2017. Katie's first book came out in May '23 with New Degree Press: Fragile Thoughts: A Healing Memoir.
Katie currently resides in Phoenixville, PA with her husband, John, and her dog, Charlie, and is actively involved in the area.
