2016 EMU Woman of Excellence
The Women of Excellence Award seeks to recognize women in the EMU community who encourage, support, and advocate for the personal, academic, and professional advancement of students. Each year, over 25 nominees are recognized and 3 winners are selected as our annual Women of Excellence. Nominees can be students, staff, faculty, and/or administrators on campus.
Recognized Mentor, College of Education Celebration of Excellence, 2016
Students recognized for their own excellence are in turn allowed to nominate a member of the faculty to be recognized for aiding in their success.
Multiple Thank-a-Teacher Awards (Fall 2013, two in Spring 2014 at NCSU; one in 2017 at EMU)
The Thank-a-Teacher program was launched to give students the opportunity to thank professors and other teachers who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their lives.
2011 NAGT Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award
In 2011, thirteen awards were given nationally to outstanding undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants in geoscience education by the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.
2010 Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award
This award serves as North Carolina State University's primary university-level forum for recognizing exceptional contributions made by Graduate Teaching Assistants to the educational excellence of the University. This annual event is a celebration of excellence in graduate student teaching in the laboratory and classroom. The UGSA Teaching Effectiveness Committee invites the Directors of Graduate Programs (DGPs) to nominate a small number of TAs that exemplify outstanding teaching and mentoring and go beyond what is required of them.
Certificate of Accomplishment in Teaching (May 2011)
The CoAT program at North Carolina State University offers graduate students a chance to demonstrate their commitment to teaching excellence through training, evaluation, and recognition. Through critical reflection and application, participants learn the fundamental components of pedagogy, enriching their personal growth and professional development in teaching and learning.
