Band Library

The Kankakee Municipal Band library includes the Governors State University collection which was donated to the band in the 1990's.  The collection is extensive and includes several Mark Hindsley orchestral transcriptions:

  • Academic Festival Overture - Brahms, March Militaire Française - Brahms, Military Symphony - Haydn, Christmas Concerto - Corelli, Music for the Royal Fireworks - Handel, Prelude, Chorale, and Fugue - Bach, Sorcerer's Apprentice - Dukas, Night On Bald Mountain - Moussorgsky, Die Meistersinger - Wagner, Dance Macabre - Saint-Saens, Suite Gothetique - (transcribed by Robert Hindsley), Espana Rhapsody - Chabrier, The Improvisator Overture - D'Albert, Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun - Ravel, Russlan and Ludmilla - Glinka, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach

Members of the band may borrow titles (within reasonable guidelines).  Schools who have previously loaned music to the band may also borrow music titles.  All parts must be retuned free of markings (erased) and placed in score order. The list of music owned by the Kankakee Municipal Band is in a Google Drive listed below. Please contact saxismyax2@aol.com if you wish to borrow from the Municipal Band.
