Managed lab administration both at Indiana University and affiliated field stations. Provided training to personnel for outdoor safety and field work techniques. Guest taught section of graduate level course in field techniques. Promoted science outreach efforts via new lab website build, Facebook, and local events.
Lab members participated in this learning celebration of the environment and conservation by discussing the perils of migrating birds and current research efforts. Lab members set up the bird hurdles obstacle course to simulate the perils of migration. A researcher removes a hummingbird from a mist net.
Managed VT Dept of Fish & Wildlife residential summer camp for two seasons. Mentored staff and ensured effective delivery in outdoor recreation and conservation programming. Assessed adequacy and quality of interpretive programming, materials and facilities. Coordinated guest speakers with Fish and Wildlife biologists, foresters, and game wardens as well as Hunter Education Department. Received Vermont Fish & Wildlife Team Commissioner's Award.

Lead 2.5 hour long classes or day trips themed around ecology, high adventure, team building, and Adirondack’s history. Lead groups of K-12 students, French Canadian ESL students, and college students on day hikes including in the Adirondack High Peaks Region. Developed ecology interpretive curriculum and provided professional training to personnel in interpretive talks, games and lesson ideas. Curated the ‘Nature Table’ for Education Center.
Taught outdoor, adventure, Alabama state history, and science classes. Worked with a wide range of students including K-12, college, and private groups. Cared for and taught with 75 reptiles & amphibians and 15 raptors. Facilitated Mobile Earth Day booth and outreach events in local classrooms.
Aided in long term migratory data collection for migrating passerines, diurnal raptors and owls. Authored the “Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory Banding Traineeship and Raptor Station Manual” to allow visitors and future trainees a better understanding of terminology, procedures, and techniques.
