In 2012, I finished my bachelors degree in biology and religious studies at the University of Virginia (UVA). At UVA, I focused my studies on evolutionary and ecological biology. In the summer of 2011, I spent 2 months at Mountain Lake Biological Station taking Field Methods in Wildlife Ecology and Field Mycology field courses. These hands-on learning opportunities inspired and encouraged me to pursue field work after graduation.
Helping people to explore and to connect with the natural world is my passion. I have worked as a natural resource instructor, summer camp director, teacher naturalist, field technician, evolutionary & ecological biology lab manager and as a communications coordinator for Vermont State Parks.
People can only care about what they know and understand. I believe that learning about the environment and practicing outdoor skills is a great way for people, of all ages, to experience and interact with the world around them.
