Photography allows me to explore nature with a new perspective and to share my love of the natural world with others! This website features my photography. On this page, you can find some of my favorite photographs I've taken.
A canoeist navigates Lake Vermilion. A common loon (Gavia immer) glides across Trout Lake. A canoe sits at portage site between Lake Vermilion and Trout Lake.
A pair of ladybugs mating on common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) in early August.
An Ebony Jewelwing (Calopteryx maculata) rests on leaf between hunting insects on the shoreline.
A bee gathers pollen on an invasive Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense).
A striped maple (Acer pensylvanicum) flower, leaf, and bud. A man uses a hand lens to examine the seed of a trout lily (Erythronium americanum). A master naturalist in training prepares to test soil pH at a field site.
While some aspens kept their bright yellow leaves, trees above 8,000 ft in elevation had already shed their leaves to conserve energy for the long winter.
A stream flows by a tree covered in moss and fungi. Leaves change in preparation for winter. Locals walk the trail and greet each other.
