Here you’ll find information about my main interests, hobbies and work achievements, as well as some of my best photos. Hope you enjoy it!
My likeness for the outdoors and nature started early in life. I was very keen on caving and mountaineering with NEUA, guided trekking tours to the Pyrenees and other mountain ranges, become a national monitor of the Portuguese Federation of Speleology and was involved in many speleology courses of 1st and 2nd degree as well as the first national course of 3rd degree.
After being a competitive swimmer from an early age, I decided to give up swimming and pursue my interests in karate, which I still practice (intermittently) at UDKS. Basketball and football are other sports that I do regularly, though not as often as I wanted.
Cinema, music and literature are an important part of my life. I particularly like world music (especially African), old jazz (Charles Mingus, Sonny Rollins) and electronic/fusion (e.g. Jazzanova). I like to read fiction (favorite authors include Salman Rushdie - give him a Nobel Prize!) and watch Tarantino’s films, among many others.
I also have a keen interest in photography, in which landscape and wildlife are special interests (check my Flickr webpage to see some of my best photos).
