This week I carried out the three ringing sessions on my own, with fewer nets, and the numbers were not particularly high. However, the quality was pretty good, with three more Aquatic Warblers (year total is now seven), and a surprising high number of Great Reed and Grasshopper Warblers.
I also ringed a few species for the first time this year, namely: Waxbill, Garden Warbler, Whitethroat, Spotted Flycatcher and Tree Pipit. Additionally, I saw two unringed juveniles of Aquatic Warbler, as well as the first Wryneck of the season.
The total number of captures (retraps between parenthesis) of the three sessions is the following:
Acr. arundinaceus 6 (2)
Acr. paludicola 3
Acr. schoenobaenus 10 (1 from France)
Acr. scirpaceus 19 (7)
