Jules Tipton has been working in professional theatre for over 20 years, originally as an actor/singer/musician. She chose to shift her focus, extending her experience in making theatre with young people, and creating/facilitating workshops, and undertook an MA in Theatre Directing as career development.
Jules is highly skilled. Her own work aims to create accessible theatre, using anecdotal and archive sources - from verbatim testimony to court transcripts - telling untold stories.
With considerable experience in community-based participatory work Jules has worked throughout London and the south-east, especially in the outer East London boroughs and Essex.
Jules creates and leads educational workshops, masterclasses, and bespoke professional development sessions, as well as leading projects as a director, creative partner and collaborator.
Jules is a guest acting tutor & director on various courses at East 15 Acting School, on the Preliminary Acting Course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and at Guildford School of Acting.
Jules graduated with an Honours degree in Drama & English from Lancaster University, and gained an MA in Theatre Directing (awarded with distinction) from Essex University.
