Monthly Shoot and Membership Meeting (except December) - 3rd Saturday of the month.

All shoots will start at 10:00 AM.

Good morning everyone.

Tomorrow (September 16) is going to be a beautiful day.   I plan on being at the range from 9:00 until noon if you’d like to join me.  Please LET ME KNOW if you’re coming incase I have to change plans for some reason.

Remember that we have our monthly shoot and monthly meeting this Saturday at 10:00 AM.  Be there…..

OVPR’s early registration closes October 1st.  Payment must be in their hands by then.  Again, I encourage you to at least visit on Saturday between 9 AM and 4PM if you’ve never been and check it out.  You can wear regular clothing during that time.  There isn’t a fee for visiting but you will need to check in at the registration hut. 

The “Riflemen of Wynne Falls” is hosting another Novelty Shoot October 10th and 11th in Axton Virginia.  It’s a fun event with novelty targets and steel silhouettes out to 200 yards.  It was at this shoot I got the idea for those crossed rubber bands you all love so much.  If you have any interest in going let me know and I’ll provide additional details.

SKEET SHOOT -  Those of us that compete in the OVPR Smoothbore Woods Walk would like to get some practice shooting pigeons before the rendezvous.  We can do it on off Saturdays or maybe squeeze it in on a weekday.  If this is something you would like to participate in please let me know what dates would work best for you.

Saturdays Sept 12th, Sept 26th, or Oct 10th?  Or any Wednesday?

LAST MEETING – We discussed and clarified a few items at our August meeting.

• Mulligans – On woods walks, every shooter is given one mulligan that can be used to re-shoot at a target he / she missed.  It can also be used to re-shoot when a target is hit but all possible points were not achieved.  In such cases the score on the initial shot is void. If you miss the second shot the score is zero.

• Sight aids – As we are a pre 1840’s club, Only clear safety glasses may be used.  Tinted lenses, diopters, hooded sights, aperture / peep sights may not be used during the scheduled club shooting competition / events.  Prescription “transition” lenses are permitted.

Per our by-laws, we begin collecting dues October 1st and they are considered past do January 1st.  It is also time too update our liability waivers so a copy is attached.   Please bring to the next event or mail your dues and waiver to:
