Oakdale, Nebraska
Dear Dave,
Thank you for the invitation to the Hansen reunion. I would like very much to be there, but I am no longer able to make that kind of trip.
I am 86 and still living on the farm where I have been for over 61 years. I am caring for myself and still driving. Two of my sons live near.
We, Theodore and I, attended one of your reunions in the late 70's or early 80's. We enjoyed it very much. We stayed with Hans and Martha; they werre great hosts. I am reminded on this note paper of the hummingbirds we watched out of their east window. We could also see Mt. Hood.
It was six years ago on the 4th of July that Thodore died, so I have been alone since then.
I do not have a computer, nor E-mail.
We have been having some hot weather, and as is usually true in Nebr. in July, we are wanting rain.
The corn and soybeans look very good yet. There is a lot of irrigation here, especailly center pivots, but it is so expensive--the cost of the systems and the costs of using them.
My best wishes to all of the family--I really wish I could be with you. I will keep you in my prayers that you have the great and safe celebration.
My love,
Louise
