Physics Research Building #
Hi! I'm Evelyn Triana. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but grew up in Bucaramanga, Colombia. I studied physics at Universidad Industrial de Santander, where I got interested in computational materials science and worked on a thesis using first-principles calculations to explore how crystal chemistry affects the Berry phase in antiferromagnetic materials.
After that, I moved to Mexico to do a master’s in Materials Science at CINVESTAV. There, I shifted to experimental work, studying how co-doping changes the properties of semiconductor sputtered thin films.
Now, I’m excited to be part of the group working on 2D van der Waals heterostructures for quantum sensing. Outside of research, I love riding bikes, dancing, and cooking.
