Love is a Skinny Kid

This episode aired April 6, 1962, having been filmed in March in Lewisville, Texas, a town about 10 miles north of Dallas. The opening highway segment, with the Corvette going towards the town of "Kilkenny" (as Lewisville is called in the show) was actually filmed south of Lewisville with the car going towards Dallas. Kilkenny is set some 160 miles north of Dallas.

A strange woman wearing a frightening facemask arrives in a small Texas town. She wants to remind the town of the shameful way a young intelligent girl, who resisted convention, was dealt. With the compliance of the town doctor and her teacher, she was committed to an asylum and allowed to fade from memory.

Not long after filming was completed in Lewisville, Maharis came down with infectious hepatitis. Though he recovered, health issues led to his leaving the show in late-1962.
