Reference Architecture for Medical Imaging Annotated in a GRID

This article presents the architecture for storing ontologically annotated medical images in a GRID. We will be able to extract information from the annotations, which are represented ontologically using RDF. We propose to implement GRID services associated with the development of methodologies for ontological annotations of data contained in a Data Grid (specifically on the Storage Elements) as well as the development of query services based on the knowledge perspective of the users. We consider issues related to image storage and service integration, using the facilities of the gLite GRID middleware.
