<Micro Yarn Skein>2024. Oct.
Minseo Kang (Master Student)
Micron-sized yarn skein-like ZnO particles grown in Sunset Yellow, while typical hexagoanl rod-like rods grown in water. This research enables the morphology control of ZnO particles from rod, disk, to donuts.

<2D grown ZnO nanostructure- Looks like nano"farm"> 2023. Oct.
Dr. Nguyen Hung Tran (Research Professor) & Manh Thang Tran (Ph. D. combined course)
2D biaxial nanostructure with 400 nm pitch wherein ZnO nanorods are vertically grown in confined area. This 2D nanostructure was developed for next generation optical retarders with negative dispersion of retardation.

<ZnO grown in lyotropic liquid crystal> 2023. Aug.
Hansol Lee (Master Student)
Topological structure reminds Mobius strip and Escher's picture. It's known very long time ago that the topological defects of liquid crystal have analogy with the cosmosphere. "Most people are first drawn to liquid crystals by their beautiful optical textures: stars, curves, splotches, and zig-zags, all in a palette of colors rivaling the most ostentatious paintings of modern art. -Charles Rosenblatt – Physics (case.edu)"
