Design Show Coverage

Design shows are overwhelming. There are thousands of products being unveiled by the world's most important designers and if you have a question, just ask Philippe Starck, Marcel Wanders, Tom Dixon or the creator who just might be standing next to you. The job of the design journalist is not to be taken in by the theater -- the chandeliers the size of blimps or the spokesmodels steering you toward the flashy and profitable. Most interesting is to follow a show year after year. One year, a design show could be setting the world on fire with its innovation; the next, embers are rare.
